what brand of makeup do you think gives you the best results? Also what is your favorite kind of bronzer because i use bronzer all the timeThanx! What is your brand of cosmetics?
MAC is my favorite although I do absolutely love Clinique's bronzer! Check that one out some time. And they come in different colors so that you can get one that best matches your skin toneWhat is your brand of cosmetics?
My absolute favorite makeup is Clinique, I use it all the time. It is pretty cheap, but definitely not the quality of the drugstore brands. It is so much better. It is 100% allergy tested, so if you have sensitive skin, this is the best stuff to use. The holiday collections were out at Macy's recently. I got one for Christmas for $36. It included mascara, eye shadow, consealer, eyeliner, eye makeup remover, and a littlle pink bag to put it all in. I would highly recommend Clinique makeup. High quality for the right price.

Hope I helped :D
My favorite brand is Bobbi Brown because its tinted moisturizer actually blends in well and looks my shade. It goes on very smooth as well. I just wish it wasn't so much money. :[

I don't use bronzer because I don't know how, plus, my mom wouldn't let me buy it. :/
I use MAC makeup,it is the best makes you look natural without having all that matte look of heavy foundation,I don't use a bronzer, but I am sure that MAC could help you out with one.Good Luck!
Honestly I wear MAC mostly but as for bronzer...Bonnebell, I know that sounds crazy but their gel bronzer is to die for I get complements all the time and I have turned so many people on to it.
Mac, lancome, Bare minerals, nars, smashbox, urban decay

for bronzer, this is rlly good http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?鈥?/a>

What is your favorite brand of Cosmetics, and why?

I am currently using Mary Kay cosmetics, and I am looking to possibly change my current skin care regimen, and am wondering what types of cosmetics other women enjoy. What is your favorite brand of Cosmetics, and why?
MACWhat is your favorite brand of Cosmetics, and why?
Mary Kay . .The Mary Kay product line consists of many different types of products. Their skincare product line includes anti-aging, cleansers, moisturizers, and lip and eye care products to name a few. Their makeup line includes a vast array of products as well. The product lines Mary Kay carries are similar to Arbonne, another direct selling company in the industry. Like Arbonne, the products are marketed mostly through individuals having home parties. Mary Kay products are based upon the foundation of enriching women's lives. I want to tell you a little about the Mary Kay Income Opportunity from my first hand experience. and I found this site is pretty easy to find a Huge selection of all Mary Kay Cosmetics http://www.marykaydiscount.com/ that might help you..
Well, for skincare. I really recommend Clinique because it is very sensitive to my skin, but still very effective. My skin is always clear, except for the occasional pimple. Otherwise, I use MAC for my eyes and lips. The colors are very pigmented with good quality(no fall out from eyeshadow)
i love clinique. sorry about the spelling. it is a little expensive but it does not clog your pores. it is oil free and fragrance free. it makes my face feel very smooth after and it gives me a nice even glow. i use power and bronzer from there and i havnt had a bad breakout since an i get many compliments on my skin.
I definitely don't stick to just one brand but here are some of my favorites:

    Makeup Forever

    Smashbox

    NARS

    MAC

    Urban Decay

    Shieseido

    Japonesque

    L'Oreal

    Revlon

    Dior

    Stila

I hope that gives you a couple brands to check out. Good luck!
I have used all the drug store brands and some of the mall ones and mary kay! None of them have compared to Arbonne! I am 100% arbonne user now and I am loving what i see every day!
I love Revlon, as they are innovative, are always coming up with new ideas %26amp; keep up with the trends. They're established, have kept their image well %26amp; high quality products.

They are also good value for money.
Avon! Definitely. They have great products and the prices are even better. And whats more, it gets delivered to you door.
My favorites are and have always been MAC, STILA and NARS. I have tried other brands, but always default to my 3 favorites.
i love to get my cosmetics at Victoria's Secret. i know it's expensive, but the products are awesome
Mary Kay - They are really good quality and also my sister sells it so is easy to buy from her.

    P.S. I think you should stay w/ Mary Kay : ).
I like Urban Decay, because it doesn't use animal testing. And it comes in very fun colors.
    My favorite brand is Revlon.

All of their products last all day and I love the colors.
    L贸real because i'm worth it.
    MAC ~ enough said!

  • Artistry Cosmetics vs BeautiControl Cosmetics? What is your opinion of these brands? Which one is better?

I want to know which of these is of a better quality. Also, I am considering being an Independant Salesperson for one of these, so, in your opinion, which one should I sell. I am asking because I need to know which is the better company to work for before I spend my hard earned money purchasing a starter kit.Artistry Cosmetics vs BeautiControl Cosmetics? What is your opinion of these brands? Which one is better?
    Good Morning SANN,

I have heard of Artistry and it is suppose to be one of the best. Even make-up artsists uses it for television. I have never heard of BeautiControl so I cannot giver you my opinion.Artistry Cosmetics vs BeautiControl Cosmetics? What is your opinion of these brands? Which one is better?
tessa's idea of checking out makeupalley is a good one. honestly, i know of no one who has ever sold either. i have been told beauticontrol is pricey, and i never even heard of artistry until a month or so ago. best of luck to you!
If you go to the web site www.makeupalley.com you can see which one has the best ratings. Before I buy a makeup I go there to see what people that have used it say about it.

What your favourite BENEFIT COSMETICS item?

what do you have from benefit?

    any bad or good items?

what do you want to buy from there?

thanks!!What your favourite BENEFIT COSMETICS item?
I own a lot of Benefit.

-brow zings - most favorite thing ever - one makeup product I cannot go without

-eye con - supposed to work on dark circles under your eyes, I really don't have dark circles under my eyes, but I like it because it keeps under my eyes moisturized

-gilded - this gold pencil looks great alone under your eyebrows or you can wear it as a shadow or you can mix it with the high brow pencil...so many options

-high brow - i like wearing this when my eyebrows are freshly done, it gives them a super arch, which i like

-dr. feelgood - i don't wear foundation, but i put this on my bare skin and it cuts down on the shine and oil as the day progresses

moon beam and posie tint - mix them together and wear it on your cheeks, your cheeks look rosie, you can always wear them alone

I can go on and on. :-] I used to wear the you rebel tinted moisturizer, but I just don't want to wear any foundation/cream/etc on my face. The packaging is cute and some of the products are expensive, but the products that I listed are the ones that I really like the most. What your favourite BENEFIT COSMETICS item?
she laq( helps seal make up to be water proof..) I love it..it comes with brushes for mascar lips and eyes.. so you dont have to buy all different colors of waterproof makeup you can make any of your favorites waterproof!

benefit body so fine.. ( gives your legs kinda a pany hose look)

if ordering online it looks like a tiny size item and think wont last but its bigger than 3 decks of cards!
I am not a big fan of benefit... i've heard some good stuff about them...but i personally don't really like their stuff...it's mediocre.

their get bent lash mascara is pretty bad for $37...it's probably comparable to something you can get for $3.

it's pretty much like black melted plastic... terrible stuff.
from benefit cosmetics is to be stylist.it doen not have bad items

jeans with shinny , hills wear ( chappals ) stylist top
I have the Brow Zings, and I would buy it again. Other than that, I didn't like the rest of their stuff.
    I have 2 favourits.

    1. Brow Zings in Light

    2. Sheer Cream Blusher in Shh
play sticks, moon beam, hoola, 10, gilded. benefit is the ****! i love it almost as much as i love mac

Mercury in your cosmetics: have anybody tried this?

i just tested this. i smeared some powder and blush on (from several drugstore brands) to plain white paper, and rub it with gold ring.

after a while, black traces appeared on the paper.

from the information i got, the black traces are signs that the product contains mercury (Hg)

    is that really mercury?

have anyone tried this?Mercury in your cosmetics: have anybody tried this?
no this isnt mercury the reaction is acutally caused from talc in the makeup im 32 and we have been doing that since i was in school the girls would run a ring or ear ring up your face to make a black streak and screw up your makeup the only tested and revealed case of a dangerous item in makeup was the test done on red lipsticks of all brands and the results were they contained lead not mercury hope this helpsMercury in your cosmetics: have anybody tried this?
drug store cosmetics - how about cats genital scrapings in your make up, fish eyes...other gross stuff.

I just got some of the Honey I Washed The Kids soap. It smells so good. That or I'd get some holiday Bath Bombs.

What is the tipping policy at Smashbox cosmetics to have your makeup done?

I have an appt. to get a makeover at Nordstrom at the Smashbox makeup counter and i just really want to know what i should tip or if i should buy their products to avoid the awkward situation of not knowing what to do.What is the tipping policy at Smashbox cosmetics to have your makeup done?
To the best of my knowledge, as a former Nordstrom employee, there is a 2 product minmum purchase for makeovers. I am not 100% sure since I never had my makeup done at Smashbox though. MAC, Two Faced, and Tony and Tina were all that way though. They usually tell you when you sit down. Either way, tipping is optional, but it would be very nice to tip $5 or so if you do not have to purchase anything. What is the tipping policy at Smashbox cosmetics to have your makeup done?
if you have an appointment then you are already paying for their services, you dont have to buy there products, and they probably arent going to try to sell them to you because you are already paying them for their services. Just tip 15-20 percent for their time and effort depensing on how well they do your make-up.

And have you ever told anyone? What cosmetics products will your husband/boy friend not admit to using?
I know for sure that my husband has used my make-up. I left my lipstick a certain way and then went out (leaving him alone). When I came back, the lipstick was moved and a little bit worn down. I later caught him with full make-up on...lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, eyebrows, blush, nails...etc. He'd never admit it to anyone else. What cosmetics products will your husband/boy friend not admit to using?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPv_POaTT…Whats the best or your favorite makeup cosmetics brands and why?
My favorite Makeup Brand would have to be Clinique.

    Why?

Well, my skin is really sensitive to most products and they are one of the only makeup brands that don't irritate my skin. Also, the ladies are always nice at the clinique stand in my macys! (silly, I know- but they are really nice..) They also have this really good foundation I like, and their cosmetics aren't that exspensive, compared to some other makeup brands. (they are exspensive compared to drugstore, but there are other cosmetic brands that cost more)

But yeah, I've been using Clinique cosmetics for 5 years- and I love them!
Estee Lauder because of their magnificent quality, and MAC for their colors and variety. You can find both these brands at any department store.

    =D

    Love Lizzy
Urban Decay, clinique (really expensive though!) Rimmel and Maybelline (:

    ^^
    Rimmel London %26amp; Maybelline.
Bee Luscious! I find it has more great products than other make-up companies. Most only have a few really great items.
all of this depends on what type of product but my favs are mac and makeup forever,
    maybelline and faces.

Revlon %26amp;%26amp; Mac has a wonderful variety for eyeshadow.

Neutrogena has great foundation that helps acne and clears pores.

hope i helped. What are your favorite cosmetics to use?
I mostly buy drugstore brands like covergirl, (lashblast waterproof is amazing!!!) maybelline expert eyewear, covergirl eyeshadow, rimmel eyeliner etc.

I also like brands like clinique for my face stuff, because it's hypo-allergenic.

MAC is always a favorite :)

Can you take cosmetics in your carry-on when flying?

I usually take some of my make up with me in my purse, nothing liquid..just like bronzer and chap stick..When I get to the security section will they dispose my cosmetics? Can you take cosmetics in your carry-on when flying?
It depends on the airport and who checks you. There was a lady who called in on a talk show the other day who had makeup taken away from her, but a lot of other people get away with it.Can you take cosmetics in your carry-on when flying?
Of course they have to let you! When ladies can no longer look good while traveling? We just can't have that.
only put chap stick in ur bag if its in a ziploc bag

    and bronzer is fine
Cosmetics are fine now as long as they are under 3 oz. You can also take shampoo, hand lotion ect, again as long as they are in small 3 oz bottles. You will need to place them in a quart size clear zip lock bag and remove them from your carry on when you go through security. Have a great trip!

What are your absolute favorite cosmetics?

Ladies (and gents) I'd like to know what your favorite makeup products are--especially fellow Sephora addicts. Here I love Lorac Cream Lipstick in Premier. It's the only lipstick I've ever used that looks good and not fake on my lips. I also love Stila's eyeshadows. So what are your favorites? Which products do you use on a daily basis? And which products are your special treats? What are your absolute favorite cosmetics?
Mac for face, eyes and blush- a bit expensive but its my special treat.

Daily basis products: Nars blush-color orgasm, Clinique's face tint, L'Oreal mascara, and Rosebud Salve and Urban Decay for my lips. What are your absolute favorite cosmetics?
i get my makeup from Bobbi Brown and just love it. Lip gloss from MAC is also really nice.

They don't carry it at Sephora, but the brand is called FACE Stockholm. They're out of Stockholm (obviously), but they have a boutique in NYC and a few elsewhere. Their eyeshadows are Absolutely amazing. They have the perfect amount of shimmer and never wear off or crease. They're awesome!!! My favorite color is called ';Reality'; -- its just a touch deeper in color than a normal copper color and everytime I wear it people comment on how BLUE my eyes look. Check them out:

Is it possible to own your own MAC Cosmetics store?

I dont know too much about franchises and stuff, but i was wondering if one person can own a MAC cosmetics store. Kind of like how you can own your own dairy queen... I would really like to possibly open own my own makeup store. Would anyone know how to go about doing this with MAC if possible? Is it possible to own your own MAC Cosmetics store?
Mac isn't a franchise. Its owned by Estee Lauder. But you can always make up your own make-up store. I know Merle Norman offers that opportunity.

  • What's your favorite cosmetics brand in Sephora?

I just started wearing makeup this year(I'm 16) and I saved up to buy a couple items from sephora, but I'm not sure which brands I should check. Is Clinique a good brand and effective? I have really pale skin so light, milky pinks always look best on me. And I need really light concealer tones and a non messy mascara. Also I just wanted to know what exactly does foundation do?What's your favorite cosmetics brand in Sephora?
clinique is a good brand for skin care...

for a foundation i would say bare minerals is the best, foundation helps even out your skin tone and helps make your skin look flawless

for concealer DEFINITELY Yves Saint Laurent's Touche Eclat try #2

    eyeliner---%26gt; MAC brand in black

mascara---%26gt; dior diorshow in black ( remember always curl your lashes!!)

    blush ---%26gt; nars in orgasm

for lipstick or lip gloss try nude colors, i always go for the lightest one for sale lolWhat's your favorite cosmetics brand in Sephora?
Foundation evens out your skin tone and hides blemishes, careful with it though as many girls dont apply it right and end up with a line on the side of their face where the foundatin stops. I really like cliniques mascara, its really nice quality. If you need blush NARS blush is amazing the orgasm shade (yes its a weird name) looks great on pretty much everyone. Also I would suggest that you go to the sephora website and check out various products as almost everything on the site has been reviewed by people who have used it, and most of the reviews are very helpful. Best of luck! =]
Well my favorite brand is MAC but Sephora does not carry MAC. It depends on what type of skin you have: dry, sensitive, combination, or normal. I have dry skin and I use Philosophy, it works really well! For mascaras you should try DiorShow Mascara or Too Faced Lash Injection. Foundation is to help cover your blemishes although it does not cover everything which is where concealer comes in. You can use one or the other but I suggest using both.
    Philosophy and clinique:)
My personal favorite brand is Lancome and NARS.

Is it okay to apply lotion or any cosmetics to your sunburned skin?

I'm just worrying that if i will use some lotion or whatever, will it help my skin in healing, and what must i do best so that my skin will recover easily? Is it okay to apply lotion or any cosmetics to your sunburned skin?
Absolutely NO cosmetics! It'll irritate your skin and block your skin from peeling (meaning you'll look funny longer).

Buy aloe vera. If you can buy aloe vera leaves or have a plant in your backyard, use that instead. Drink as much water as you can, too. It'll speed up the process. Is it okay to apply lotion or any cosmetics to your sunburned skin?
you should try using Unicure Blue or Natural Shampoo only couple times a week along with Unicure Hair and Skin Conditioner 3-4+ times daily as both a leave in and wash out conditioner its grease less, perfume, fragrance, and color free. Works for EVERYTHING related to Hair Or Skin from Clearing Acne to Keeping hair healthy, shiny. Thick, dandruff free, and so much more... available at www.unicure.com it has been around since 1973 formulated in the '50's in Denmark. The website has tons of beauty tips and testimonials plus was #1 selling hair conditioner in US and Canada they have a full line of hair care products. Definitely the best! and a very reasonable price about $5 a bottle 12oz.

    No.

The only thing you should apply to a sunburn is aloe vera gel: the purer, the better.
Oh i use sorbolene cream/lotion that contains some glycerine

it seems to work well for me.
Only apply the cream for sunburnt skin , nothing else.

What is your favorite lush cosmetics solid product? I have a $10 coupon and can only buy solid product with it?

So what pro. do u like most and why?

Thnx What is your favorite lush cosmetics solid product? I have a $10 coupon and can only buy solid product with it?
i think you should buy coalface, it's a facial cleanser, that also has exfoliating beeds in it, and it works on normal/combination skin to cleanse and tone it, and it also works for mild acne. good luck :)What is your favorite lush cosmetics solid product? I have a $10 coupon and can only buy solid product with it?

Arbonne International is the best. It is Manufactured in Switzerland, and is All-Natural. They have a huge selection of eyeshadows, blushes, concealers, and so much more. Check it out at

Anything bare minerals. The best makeup ever.

  • What is your opinion on cosmetics testing on animals?

Let me know what you think of animal testing. What is your opinion on cosmetics testing on animals?
I don't like it. And now that you brought it up, I feel extra guilty about continuing to use my Maybelline mascara. Seriously.

I believe everything else is from cosmetic brands who are listed in the non-animal testing list.

    p.s.

I've posted a question a while back, on what harm has been done from cosmetics, and some folks did answer. But I would like to hear more if people are getting cancer from cosmetics that aren't tested animals. (from reading another answer a few up from me)What is your opinion on cosmetics testing on animals?
NO! It is SO NOT HUMANE! WE DO NOT NEED COSMETICS! I do NOT agree with answer #15! What part of ';we don't need cosmetics'; doesn't he understand!? If people are going to get cancer from non-animal tested products, then just stop making cosmetics!!!!!

    Go to www.freetheanimals.synthasite.鈥?PLEASE! Report Abuse

i think it is soo wrong to do that to poor defensless animals...

it is very cruel.there are many other ways to test stuff like that and plus animals don't react the way we do when it comes to makeup and stufffff

    VERY WRONG!
very cruel! how would they feel if they were locked up all day to test some chemical that could kill them!
i do NOT agree with it whatsoever. I think it is wrong and shameful and should be stopped immediately. Animals do not have a say in what they can or cannot do and regardless of people's beliefs, I do think animals have feelings and a soul. It is not fair that we are using animals for our purposes when they more than likely do not want all this cosmetic testing done on them. If they really wnat to test it on something, then offer money and see how many humans will volunteer themselves for this purpose, because that is the only rightful way.

    animals are our equals!
Its wrong. I buy makeup thats non-animal testes like Mac or Revlon.
    i think it's wrong!

there are many other ways to test makeup products

there's no reason you have to use animals

i mean it could harm them

and its not even for them to use

i definitely think alternative forms of makeup testing are best :)
I think it's disgusting and wrong. Turn to inmates or those whom have killed offer them $.02 per test and have at it. Stop animal abuse.

Now I still feel very strongly about it for medical testing as well, but sometimes it's very necessary. I still say use inmates.
Thats terrible if they want to test it try it on someone and pay them, if i wear make up (i ussually do) i make sure its not tested on animals everyone should
everyone on here is saying how wrong it is but i bet most of you use cover girl! Covergirl test products on animals
Ive written 3 articles about this topic which have been posted in my local newspaper. Its cruel, and people, companies who do it should be jailed, and shut down.

Lets try testing stuff on us that makes our eyes bleed, our stomachs rupture, make us go blind and deaf.. and lets see what people REALLY think then. You wouldnt treat a human like that, so dont treat an animal like that.
cruel and horrible if they want 2 know if it works test on yourself
its horrible who would think of doing that!
    does it make them pretty?
That's why I use a high end cosmetics brand like Bee-Luscious. They use natural products and things that are known not to harm Humans because of chemical testing NOT animal testing. All of their makeup and skincare are FDA approved ingredients.
animal should not be forced to wear make ups or sth like that. they don't want to, they don't need to, unless they pay some professional artist make ups for hundreds bucks and ask them to put on make ups on their hairy face. eeww. those animals really don't want it. and we have to respect their rights.
    Its very gruesome and horrible.

But, the alternative is testing the products on people.

Would you rather have a bad cosmetic that causes cancer tested on people, so people end up getting cancer and dying just to test a new type of eye shadow?

And what about all the lawsuits that would come along from people getting seriously ill from bad cosmetics?

Its real easy to be self righteous and complain because you only see the problem from one perspective.

You might not feel this way if you had to tell a single mother with 3 kids who was dying of cancer from cosmetics testing that it was necessary for her to die and leave her kids behind in order to protect fluffy the rabbit from animal testing.

Instead of just talking a big game and being a self-righteous hypocrite, how about this:

Don't buy the makeup from companies who test on animals.

What Is Your Favorite Cosmetics Brand and WHy??? any SUGGESTIONS and a certain item from that brand?

im trying to find out what is the best item from different brands cause i think all brands have a certain thing that is outstanding that other cosmetic companies might not.. THANKS!!What Is Your Favorite Cosmetics Brand and WHy??? any SUGGESTIONS and a certain item from that brand?
MAC- I would suggest you to use this brand. It is a little expensive and sometimes dramatic, but I can tell you that it adds glamour to a regular already beautiful woman. They have products that very natural and very enhancing colors. Everything works well with the skin, lips, and the eyes. So I hope that you try Mac and I hope that you love the products. OK ByeWhat Is Your Favorite Cosmetics Brand and WHy??? any SUGGESTIONS and a certain item from that brand?
CLINIQUE-It's so good to my skin I never have a problem with their make-up.
I prefer L'oreal's foundation, powder and mascara. They are good quality at a fairly good price. Sonia Kashuk (found at Target stores) makes a great lip and cheek tint that is sheer and natural looking on anyone. The absolute best lip gloss I've found is by Rachel Perry, found mostly in health food stores. It's quite light, not sticky and heavy like some, comes in several wonderful scents and flavors (my fav is the banana coconut), and comes in a very attractive vintage 70's -style container.
I have always thought fuzzy lip gloss would be interesting, I mean just think about that... oh well tah
lipgloss- NARS in Orgasm; lasts forever, universal color, feels great, and looks perfect

blush-NARS in Orgasm; same reasons as above and looks very natural

bronzer-Hoola by Benefit; very natural, lasts, and feels light

eyeliner- Chanel; doesn't smudge, very smooth application, and looks sexy

mascara-DiorShow or Chanel Inimitible; doesn't clump or smear, volumize and lengthens and curls, lasts, and gives you flirty lashes

    lip balm-BUrt's Bees

eyeshadow-i've only used chanel and dior and i think the chanel ones are better.

good luck! always try things on for yourself though, it might work differently on your skin.
my favorite cosmetic brand is Milani.they have everything from lip balm to lip gloss, lipstick, eye shadow, nail color.and itsz line of products range from all types of racists.they are colors that all races would look good in.anyone that read this should try it.trust me i luv cosmetics and im very picky milani is the best to me
I love Mary Kay. Their foundations are light enough that you don't feel like you are wearing paste, but cover great and match and look really natural. I also love that they have a money back guarantee, if you dont' like it you return it, no questions asked. They also have great consultants with samples, so you can try it before you decide to buy it. Great company all the way around.
stay-on-all-day-w.out-cakiness foundation for oily skinned people : lancome's TEINT IDOLE ULTRA does the job. trust me i got a lot of pimple scars too. all i gotta do is carry with me those oil absorbing sheets. the foundation doesnt get cakey at all! remember to 1st use primer before anything else!;)

    ';3.Ultima II “Fade Not Crease Not” eyeshadow primer- truly makes the eyeshadow stay and not melt- even in hot weather. No other eyeshadow primer does the job.';

I disagree with Caroline. I use Neutrogena's Soothing Eye Tints and whatever eyeshadow I use stay on all day %26amp; night. And I live in a hot tropical country!
I can't say that i have a favourite one because all of them seem to have diffrent things that each have good factors in them ...but...if i were 2 narrow it down to two i would say MAYBELLINE n BOURJOIS (im not sure what parts of d US its sold but we have it in d uk) i love both their mascara's and eyeshadows.
I don't have a favorite brand...I like Brow Zings from Benefit, Flirts lip gloss, anyones eye shadow and Prestige's eye liner.
Maybelline, I just like their stuff for some reason.
I love everything about Mary Kay so much that I started selling it. The first thing i feel in love with was the skin care it works great and last a long time.

My favourite picks are - foundation long wearing doesn't feel heavy and doesn't come off on clothing

Top best Price picks are the microdermabrassion and brush set great but for the money last long time I had my brush set for 8 years now.

other favs eye and lip primers and eye make-up remover as well as the ultimate mascara.

It's hard because I like so many things but those would be my top. If you are interested in any free samples email me.
for you i would say something like a smooth color it would bring out your eye color an di saw that photo of yours in the small box and nice eye shadow and trust me its better
    maybelline just love it!!
I really like Sally Hansen diamond lip treatment, maybelline mascara, and Dior eyeshadow.
Mary Kay, i love their eyeliners, they are long lasting, i wear that to work and it looks perfect all day.
Overall I really like bareminerals because all of their products blend well, are interchangable, you look airbrushed and like you're not wearing makeup at all (and you feel like you're not wearing any makeup) but other brands are great for other products. (like benefit's mascara. its fantastic)
MARY KAY!!! Try the Cellu-Shape!! It really Works!! Im in LOVE!!!
    Definitely Avon Personal Match Foundation!
    Ok, here we go:

1.Cover Girl Lipgloss in “Pink Sequin”- this shade flatter every skin tone (seriously!) and the best thing about it? It costs about $5.

2.Smashbox Photo Finish- use it under foundation to make your makeup last and make it look matte.

3.Ultima II “Fade Not Crease Not” eyeshadow primer- truly makes the eyeshadow stay and not melt- even in hot weather. No other eyeshadow primer does the job.

What's your favorite cosmetics brand and why?

So, yes, what's your favorite cosmetics brand? Why?

Is there another brand you'd like to try but haven't had the chance yet?

What are some of the different products that you like from your brand-line and why?

Discuss! =)What's your favorite cosmetics brand and why?
Hi, I buy all of my cosmetics at SEPHORA. It is my favorite store in the whole world! I love it so much that I start hyperventilating when I walk in. Well, they just built one at my local mall and before that I either had to drive 2 hours or order online. So, to have the store right there was so great for me! Anyways, last time I was there I discovered this new brand of makeup by VINCENT LONGO. He has very unique items, such as creamy eyeshadow with glitter in it, powder eyeshadow with glitter in it. It is really great stuff. I also bought some lipstick from him as well. I feel like he is creating this stuff just for me! It comes in the most perfect of colors and is of the highest quality. I have tried other brands at Sephora, many brands. And while they are all good, none are as good as the products of Vincent Longo. I recommend giving him a try if you ever need to buy a girl some makeup. What's your favorite cosmetics brand and why?
mac cuz it last long especially their lip gloss
    MAC all the way!!

i just love all their products and they're not THAT expensive...my favorite is their PLUSHLASH mascara its really good

i wanna try CHANEL but it's a little out of my price range
That is to hard of a question. It is to hard for me to narrow it down. I have make up from a lot of brands. I name a couple of my favorites: Nars, Benefit, Bare escentuals, Sephora, Cargo, Urban Decay and i like MAC for their eyeshadow.
bare escentuals! there's no way i'd try anything else! everything from bare escentuals looks so natural, it just evens out my skin tone and covers up my acne scars beautifully. the mascara works better than any i've tried and they have the best shimmering eye shadows in natural shades.

    i love it!
    MAC!!!!!

    cuzz its nice

    doesnt make me break out

    lastes all day

    its pretty

and the quality is good and lasts a while!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ah, I want to try MAC.

    i got a gift card.

(I still can't afford anything though xD)

But yeah, I've heard good things.

    Still.

    Hella expensive :P

    (For frugal me)
    Benefit.

They have really cute and fun makeup

    (:
too faced cosmetics are my favorite. i love their translucent powder it goes on so smooth and looks natural of course. the eyeshawdows are also good, they all have a shimmer to them and they come in really pretty colors. i would really like to try chanel spray foundation? anyone know if it works good?

Do you read/research the ingrediants in your cosmetics?

or do you just assume everything thats in there is safe?Do you read/research the ingrediants in your cosmetics?
i've got a doctorate in chemistry so i have to check all of the chemicals to see if any of them are harmfulDo you read/research the ingrediants in your cosmetics?
i dont research the ingredients unless i have some kind of break out or some kind of sickness. i assume everything is safe
A lot of cosmetics don't even list the ingredients on them, especially makeup like eyeliners and mascara's. You'd have to look up the ingredients online and then look up if those ingredients are safe or not. A lot of people probably assume it's not harmful and don't bother looking it up. For the most part, cosmetics are probably predominately safe, but I've read reports on how lead was found in cosmetics as recently as 2007. But, even if the ingredients were listed on the cosmetics, I doubt they would list lead or other harmful ingredients, especially if it is only traces.

  • Can you use oil burning fragrance for making your own cosmetics?

when making cosmetics in the ingredients it always says to use essential oil, but can you use fragrance oil for oil burners? Can you use oil burning fragrance for making your own cosmetics?
I wouldn't. They are not cosmetic grade.

Would you feel annoyed if you had to throw out all your expensive cosmetics to board the plane?

I'm wondering how women feel about the new ';liquids'; rule before boarding a plane. They're making women throw out perfumes, cosmetics, and other essentials. Also, what do you do when you get to your destination without makeup? Do you buy more when you get there?Would you feel annoyed if you had to throw out all your expensive cosmetics to board the plane?
Don't know what the big deal is, you can pack it in check-on luggage, both in US and in UK .....

Its the people who were trying to get it through without checking it who had to dump it.Would you feel annoyed if you had to throw out all your expensive cosmetics to board the plane?
Sure I would, but I'd feel a tad worse if the plane blew up in midflight.
You can put them in your checked luggage but you cant carry it on-board the plane.

They throw them out if they didnt follow the directions before checking in luggage.
I'm sure no one would mind in order to stay alive but at the same time the terrorists are winning because we are steadily losing our rights and privileges and that's what they want.
if your face gets blown off by the terrorists...you wont have a face to put the make up on. better have face with no make up than no face at all
First of all, the airplane wouldn't blow up because of my perfume or other liquids I would have in my purse. Don't tend to exagerate with presumptions and question like ';what would you do if...?'; They take these security means because they found out it can be blown by some combination of liquids with explosibles. Terrorists prepare long for this, and it wouldn't have nothing to do with my perfume.

Anyway, they're not making anyone do anything...wrong conception, they are only trying to be sure that those kind of goods (liquids of any type) are not to be carried in the carry-on baggage, meaning you can still put them in the hold luggage. Nobody forces you to leave your stuff in the airport...

For what I'm concerned, if something like this occurs to me, having in my hand bag liquids or stuff that can prejudiciate the flight, I would go back to the check-in counter, make them give me back my luggage and put all the stuff there. This is possible...and if this can't be done (because of flight delays or something like that), and the stuff is really expensive, I would try to give it to them in custody for when I return. And if this is not possible either, than I would say :';That's it, nothing can't be replaced, specially material stuff';. I wouldn't be angry at all.
No, I don't wear make-up, and I wouldn't want to put others at risk either just for the sake of trying to look hollywood.
well i would get rid of all my expensive makeup then sue the airline for making me do it!
Yeah i would but when you consider what just happened i would rather throw it out or not take it all.............I don't want to die in mid air!!! what person would??
It's for my own safety so I don't mind.
I don't really wear much liquid make up, so it wouldn't be too bad for me. I guess how we'll have to cope it just buy the tiny shampoos and cheap make-ups when you arrive at your destination.
I'd rather throw away everything I own, than blow up in mid air.
No I wouldn't feel annoyed if it was for safety reasons. I mean the terrorists were hiding bomb components in them for goodness sake! Would u rather be blown up?

    Lmao at Jason's comment!
I'd be much more annoyed if the plane blew up.
    well not for my safety
The real question should be why someone should feel so insecure that they have to bring makeup with them.

GIRLS: What makeup should you have in your cosmetics bag?

I'm 17, and I DO wear makeup...but I'm not that great with knowing what to have and applying it. At the moment, I have a lot of facial cleansers and moisturizer because I'm really intent on keeping my skin healthy.

How many beauty products, and how many of each product, do you own? (For example: At the moment...I only have one liquid foundation)How do you usually start applying your makeup? What are some tricks?GIRLS: What makeup should you have in your cosmetics bag?
In my make up bag: (Quantity)

    -Concealer (1)

    -Liquid Foundation (1)

    -Compact (1)

-Mascara (2 -- one for everyday, and one for a more dramatic look)

-Gel eyeliner in tub (1) with brush

-Eyeshadow (2 separate colours and 2 quads)

    -Blush (2)

-Lip sticks (4) and gloss (3)

-Various Makeup brushes (4) (Foundation brush, blush brush, dual eyeshadow brush --angle/blending, eye lash/brow brush)

-Q-tips for touch ups (usually 2-3)

-Small Flip Mirror with 2x magnifying (1)

I usually start by applying my concealer, then my foundation and really blending with the foundation brush. Then I start on my eyes (depending on how I am feeling at that moment and/ or where I am going, I might only do mascara, mascara with eyeliner, or the works). Once that is finished, I apply my lipstick or gloss and I am good to go.GIRLS: What makeup should you have in your cosmetics bag?
I have a makeup case... I use different makeup depending on where im going, what im wearing(style of clothes and colors sometimes), and most importantly how much time I have. I always find myself doing this when i have time

    lotion SPF

foundation w/spf only where I need coverage use sponge

    concealer again sponge

fill brows with brush not pencil

    eyeshadows

eyeliner/smudged and with eyeshadow over line with similar color

    mascara

    blush/bronzer

    lipgloss/lipstick

On busy days you have to play up what you have, not hide what you don't like. I have long curly eyelashes (people think I wear falsies or curl them) I have full defined lips no lip-liner needed, so i put on concealer some mascara, gloss and bronzer. You will need to practice a lot I've been doing my makeup for over 10yrs and I am still learning new techniques. Also I get to wear that much makeup and not look weird cuz im older you at 17 I would say just play up your good features, and occasionally go full blown makeup for prom and parties

f you are really serious about healthy skin always us SPF, make sure to get your Zzz's and keep that skin hydrated.
I start with sunscreen...If i want a tinted foundation with SPF i mix my powdered blush with my suncreen and apply it onto my face.

I use minimal foundation, only when theres spots to cover.

Concealer for under eyes when there are bags.

Apply blush, if u wish, unless you have that tinted look it's not necessary.

    Apply eye shadow

apply eye liner upper lid and waterline

    apply brow highlighter...

Ohhh and if you wish you can contour your face, but i usually do that at the end.

I dont' use mascara, but if i did i'd put it on second last before lipgloss/lipstick
    WASHING THE FACE---

-St. Ives Apricot scrub [love it! Use it twice a week at night.]

-Neutrogena foaming face wash [takes off all my makeup!!]

-Neutrogena make up removing towlettes [for all those little mistakes and also great at removing makeup!]

    -Neutrogena eye makeup remover

    -Cetaphil face wash [for mornings]

MAKEUP ROUTINE [in order. The basic that I do daily]---

    -neutogena oil-free fresh moisture

    -smashbox photofinish primer

    -mac selectmoisture concealer

    -mac studiofix fluid

    -revlon colorstay eyeliner

    -mac zoomlash mascara

I have a lot of makeup products. I mean you should have whatever in your bag that works for your skin! I tried so many things that made me break out but my skin became perfect after using st.ives!! But thats just me. Its not the quantity that you own! You really want the quality of your face to matter!
as makeup.. i only have eye liner, mascara and some powder for the eyes, i always considerate the best make up is the less make up on. But thats my personal opinion ;)

But the only advice i could give and im pretty sure you already know it.. always remove your make up at night if you dont wash out your make up your skin will get irritated and its pretty bad on the eyes, especially if you wear contact lenses, it make deposit on it, which make the contact aged faster.

Else practice, you will find your own way and make up you prefer ;)
First thing I apply is moisturizer =]

    (I use clinique)

Then I apply concealer, foundation, powder...then usually spritz some fix + (by MAC) to seal in my makeup.

Then I prime my eyelids with UDPP (urban decay primer potion) then do my shadow =]] apply my eyeliner, mascara and do my lips!

pretty much from that you can just add in stuff that you personally like. maybe your favorite eyeshadow color or some bronzer. its really all a matter of personal choice like clothing style.

    answer mine?: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>

i own 1 eyeliner,1 lip gloss , an eyeshadow pallet with 4 colors, and 2 chapsticks

always moisturize your skin no matter what , better if it has spf 15 , use any type of lipbalm before putting on lip gloss or lipstick...
I think the most important is : a great mascara, lip gloss, a good concealer, and a great bronze.
    Too much to count.
If you want to keep your skin moisturized, pimple free, protected against the sun and glowing i'll suggest some products (that arent too expensive either ;) that work the best for me.

    CLEANING THE FACE

a.) Neutrogena Gentle Cleanser: This removes dirt from your pores, cleaes your face but still moisturizes it. No matter what your skin type is you should ALWAYS use gentle products. In any circumstance, harsh ones will only worsen the complexion (aka redness, blotchyness, aggravation of pimples).

b.) Neutrogena Daily Facial Scrub: The blue coloured one... use this once every 3 or so days to keep your face free from flakes as this hinders your make-up application. It also feels really good, and used like this in moderation doesn't dry your skin out.

c.) Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Cleansing Wipes: Miracles for pimples! When i get some, they are usually really stubborn. If i do - i clean my face at night with cleanser a, then wipe one of these over affected areas before putting on my cream (below). It really works wonders for me!

    TONING THE FACE

Once upon a time, my dermatologist said never use toner. It dries normal skin out with excessive use, and for pimple prone skin only makes it oilier.

If you must use it though, I suggest Clinique's toner. Only use it during thre day if you must.

    MOISTURIZING THE FACE

a.) I use Olay moisturizing cream. Look for the non-comedogenic one - this means it doesnt clog pores and create pimples. It levels out your skins natural oils, works as your own, and also contains SPF! Easiest, most effective one i've used in my life. It also works better than any base I have used (i.e. Napoleon Perdis Pre-Flight foundation base). I use this day and night, smearing some on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and working it in.

    FOUNDATION

a.) Revlon Colormatch: I use Revlon Colourstay myself, as any other brand doesn't have a colour for my alabaster skin. I would reccomend the colourmatch though, as the colour almost adapts to your own. It, also, is non-comedogenic and has spf as well to keep you pimple free and protected against the sun.

b.) Maybelline Everfresh Concealer: Works well, but go easy on it! dab it on the pimple and work it out to blend with your foundation.

c.) Green Concealer: Ever heard of it ;)? Non-comedogenic - look for that word i keep mentioning on the back of packets. Redness, irritation and pimples are all the same reddy colour and green counteracts it! It makes the redness dissapear and leaves you with a very natural skin color... even better if you dab foundation or concealer over it after to match your skin.

    POWDER

a.) Shiseido Powder in Rose: I use this, although expensive, because its wonderful. Makes my pores dissapear, eves out foundation and soaks up excess oil. Love eeet!! Probably best left for special occasions though, as i dont think its non-comedogenic plus the price (80$ here in Aus) so i use it wisely.

    BLUSH

a.) Maybelline Blush: Not sure of the same, but its air whipped and light weight. For my skin i use a rose color - I generally stay away from bronzers as i prefer a light 'peaches and cream' complexion and smudgy eyes ... but this blush works well for me, in moderation.

    EYELINER

a.) Maxfactor Kohl Pencil: Smooth, long lasting, a dream to create smoky eyes or line them. Line the upper, inner rim ('watermark') of your top eyelids, and also as close to your lashes as possible on the top. Do it in small brush strokes and use a cotton bud to smudge it a little. Then, bring it outside the outer corner of your eyes and line a tiny bit undereath your bottom lashes (about a tiny bit less than half a centimetre) for a really nice lined and slightly smoky look.

    MASCARA - MOST IMPORTANT!!

a.) Maxfactor 2000 Calorie: Hands down, no contest. Best mascara I have come across in my life - and thats very many. Cheap, clum free, thickens and lengthens beyond belief! Widen you eyes, tilt your head back and wiggle the rush from root to tip through your lashes. Use the tip of the wand for inner and outer corner lashes so you don't get black everywhere, and brush over the tips of your lashes a few times to lengthen. I'm a firm believer in beautiful bold eyes - and mascara should always be used to make them look beautiful :)

    OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER

a.) Eyebrows: People may pluck blindly, but eyebrows are one of the top most important things that can either make or break your look. I suggest if you already pluck them, cringe and let them grow back so you can re-shape them. Either order some brow stencils off the net (i am not sure where to buy them, i got mine in Japan!), get them professionally done (reccomended - one time pay for great eyebrows, then coninue upkeep by plucking stray hairs), or do your research on the net or in books and try to shape them yourself. Best way is to use eyeliner (pencil) and perfect a shape, then pluck outside of it.

b.) Face Masks: Young Solution make some cool mud masks that completely purifies your skin, drawing out all impurities and leaving it soft and paving the way for pimple-free complexion.

c.) Hair: Very important. Use Joico shampoos and conditioners if you can, as they are one of the only shampoos that re-construct your hairs damage with ingredients that are naturally found in your hair, rather tha

What's your favorite cosmetics brand and what's your favorite foundation and/or tinted moisturizer?

I am trying to find some kind of foundation for my skin. I am a teenager, have occasional acne, and normal skin. What's your favorite cosmetics brand and what's your favorite foundation and/or tinted moisturizer?
    Well I'm a teenager..ahaha

Umm I like MAC cosmetics. It hasn't fail me and I've been using it for 2 years now.

Foundation I use MAC studio tech and studio fix fluid.

My fav eyeliner is the fluidline (for the top lid) and I have a mac eye kohl for the bottom lid, because I like to smudge it abit

. Max factor has pretty good mascara, but at the moment I'm using napoleon perdis. Aahha and for skin care, at the moment I'm using clinique liquid facial wash because I got it for free, but I usually use neutragena. What's your favorite cosmetics brand and what's your favorite foundation and/or tinted moisturizer?
I love LA Minerals stuff. I wear their foundation, veil, bronzer, and i have lots of their eyeshadows.

I also love Avons waterproof glimmersticks eyeliner.

    Loreal's new mascara-the tube one that's got 2 ends.

Skin care, I'm a minimalist. I use Arbonne's face cleaner, witch hazel and an organic moisturizer that I don't have any clue what the name is right now! LOL sorry!
i really like clinique foundation. i'm 16, and like you..i have annoying acne occasionally. so clinique is a great option since it's hypoallergenic, meaning it won't clog pores..and also, it offers a variety of shades, formulas, etc. so you can find a shade that matches your skin tone and a well suited formula depending on whether you favor light, medium, or more coverage.

my favorite is the skin clearing makeup. it comes in a green tube. it's pretty good, and never causes breakouts. good luck!
I would say. The single best makeup for pretty much all of your needs is Bee Luscious. It has only been around a few years and is like all the talk of the industry. You might want to check it out. Although as a teenager you may not want to spend the money but it would be money well spent.

What are the dangers of making your own cosmetics?

What are the dangers of making your own cosmetics?

im thinking of making my own lotions, scrubs, and lip balms but i dont know the dangers behind it. things like fungi and bacteria. what are some things that i have to worry about, and how do i prevent itWhat are the dangers of making your own cosmetics?
You said it yourself. Bacteria, fungi etc. Also if you make a ';wrong'; calculation you could harm your skin by burns etc.

Is starting your own cosmetics company a waist of money?

my friends say that it is really tough to get your own brand out there and i sort of belive them it this right?! this is something i really want to do when i'm older but will i waste my time and money doing this?Is starting your own cosmetics company a waist of money?
You need to study, study, study the industry and trends that cross market.

Right now what's in is natural and organic products, women are really looking for the safest thing to put on their faces but, it has to make them feel and look good too.

Plus how and where you manufacture your products no testing on animals, no outsourcing you need to show local pride and is your company environmentally friendly, using solar power not creating illegal waste.

Once you see the bigger picture like setting up community charity events, these events will show customers to trust and buy your brand. Otherwise no one will learn who you are, if you do nothing but try to fill your pockets.

Do research of companies outside of make-up that are successful, and see how you can integrate that with this industry of make-up.

Goodluck! Is starting your own cosmetics company a waist of money?
You can start by making your own eyeshadows. Those are easy. I do that. and sell them on Etsy sometimes.

You can get a starter eyeshadow kit from TKB trading, great people to work with. They have containers, recipes, and the best forum ever! You can learn a lot on their forum. I'd go there if you really want good info. There's lotsa women on their that have makeup sites that are making money.

Yeah it would be hard to start up, but not impossible. You have lotsa costs:

    product

    insurance

    equipment

    labels

    a website or Etsy shop

    packaging (like boxes,envelopes, bubbl wrap)
You will have to put lots of energy, time and most of all MONEY in it, and it's not even guaranteed that you'll be successful. You'll also have to provide SAFE products. You have to be absolutely sure before you get into a business like this.
You'll spend before you earn... if you EVER earn.

Unless you have some crazy, amazing original or ingenious recipe for cosmetics, the market really doesn't need more makeup.

  • How do you store your cosmetics and hair products?

i store my cosmetics in a droor below my mirror in my bathroom with a chair in front.

i put my hair products in a 3 shelve cabinet in my bathroom.

How do you store yours? jw?How do you store your cosmetics and hair products?
    Wow what a great question!

I find if I keep baskets on my counter it helps me when I'm in a hurry to stay neat.

I do keep my makeup in a drawer, skincare in another.

My hairsprays etc...are usually in taller cans so a neat basket works great and I keep them on my counter.

The same with perfumes, body lotions I keep in another.

Things stay organized for me as I am always rushed.

As a hair stylist I am always trying the latest in beauty products and have too many. Some girls like shoes, some purses, me cosmetics.

I look forward to other ideas. Thanks again for a great question. How do you store your cosmetics and hair products?
I put my makeup in a makeup bag, and my hair products i leave on the bathroom counter, just don't let hair mousse get hot, it totally kills it.
i store my cosmetics in my makeup bag and in my bathroom and i store my hair products in a drawer and on top of my counter
    I use a makeup bag,

since I have a lot of makeup,

and it holds them all in a fairly small container.

    Your way is good though!
I have been staying with my boyfriend and all of those products are now being stored in 2 small containers with lids and stuffed into a grocery store bag.
My makeup is all in a makeup bag which I store under the bathroom sink and my hair cair products are in the medicine cabinet.
Great question, I'm always looking for a better way. Right now, mine are all over my vanity table.

What do you use for your cosmetics and facial wash?

Im using ZA New York for my cosmetics and facial wash. What do you think of this brand? Has anyone try before? What brand are you using now? Is it good? What do you use for your cosmetics and facial wash?
i never heard of that brand i use neutrogenas deep clean scrub , revlon, and persripitvesWhat do you use for your cosmetics and facial wash?
I use arbonne products. I have oily skin and have tried just about everything available, and recently started using a product called clear advantade, I have noticed a major improvement in my skin. They also have a great bronzer, which in no way makes you look orange, gives a very natural glow. I have never used the brand you reffered to and I previousley worked as a make up artist for sever years. If you are interested in this product email me akmurray04@yahoo.com. I can tell you how to get information on the product.
Basically, the brand seems pretty famous a few years back, especially when Karen Mok endorsed it. Im not sure about their skin products, but their make up seems pretty good.

Im using several different products for my skincare and make up. I never believed in using the same series, although it sounds to be better.

Im using facial cleanser from Skinfood, toner from Therapeutics, loose powder fro Ettusias, eyebrow frm Cyber colour, and sme other make up from Benefit, Revlon, Kate, Faceshop etc.
have never heard of those brands. I have used Noxzema original face wash cream since i was a teen and never had hardly any breakouts. I still use it because it is a great moisturizer. As for cosmetics, i jump around alot but usually come back to cover girl and maybelline
I use Avon/Covergirl Makeup and I use Clean%26amp;Clear(blackhead one) in the shower and Noxema pads twice a day. I haven't heard of your brand, but I don't have any problem at all with what I use.
Use Lancome facial wash - its good-choose a brand that will suit your budget and skin- don't go in for cheap stuff

    What determines your cosmetics choice?

I'm doing a short survey for my advertising class, thanks!

    1. Are you loyal to a certain brand, and why?

    2. What made you choose a certain cosmetics brand in the first place?

    3. Would you try a new brand of cosmetics if the advertising for the product caught your eye?

    4. Is the cost a big factor when picking out make-up? What determines your cosmetics choice?
    01) I'm addicted to MAC. Absolutely LOVE the quality of their make-up %26amp; they're always coming out with new products so you never get bored every time you go back for more.

    02) MAC application lasts longer than other make-up brands even after a long night of going out with some girlfriends.

    03) I would.. I'm definitely a make-up junkie.

    04) Not at all. I know MAC may be expensive but it lasts really long so you really get what you pay for. My eyeshadows lasts for years!!What determines your cosmetics choice?
    1. I am not loyal to any brand, but I am fond of Urban Decay %26amp; Clinique.

    2. I choose a brand based on the variety of shades %26amp; quality of the product. It also helps if they coordinate products for a particular skin tone or eye color.

    3. No, I dont buy cosmetics based on advertising.

    4. Yes, cost is a big factor. However, if the higher priced item is higher quality %26amp; will last longer, I will make an exception.
    1. Are you loyal to a certain brand, and why? I am loyal to two brands. Estee Lauder, and Bare Minerals.

    2. What made you choose a certain cosmetics brand in the first place? I chose Estee Luader because it was the makeup that my mom introduced me to when I first started wearing makeup. As for bare minerals, my friend showed me her collection, and I fell in love with it after i bought my own.

    3. Would you try a new brand of cosmetics if the advertising for the product caught your eye? Sure. If i saw a particular makeup look similar to something I would be interested in, then I would consider buying that product to try and duplicate the look.

    4. Is the cost a big factor when picking out make-up? Its not the biggest factor, and I understand that if its more expensive, the makeup is usually of better quality. You get what you pay for.
    1. Not really. But I have a lot of Maybelline in my cosmetic kit.

    2. Advertisements, friend recommendations/I see how it looks on them, if it's there on the shelf and it looks like what I need

    3. Definitely. Especially onces for mascara.

    4. It's probably the biggest factor for me. I don't want to spend a lot of money on makeup if I don't know whether or not it's going to work or not. It usually stops me from buying a lot of products if I don't think it'll be worth the money. :P I'm cheap.
    1. I use a TON of Bare Escentuals, but also use other brands, so NO!

    2. Because I saw it on TV and it looked like the kind of makeup I would not only use but enjoy

    3. Yes! If it says new on the package, I want it!!!

    4. Not really, if the product works. I am hesitant to try something new with a price point of $20+ if I can't sample it first, though.
it takes me FOREVERR to get makeup. i spend hours online reading reviews/raitings and comparing ingrediants.

    1) nope. i believe all brands have a strong point and weaker points.

2)i'd go on yahoo answers too and see what people think of a certain cosmetic

3)i wouldn't try it just yet, but i'd definetely consider it.

4)heck YES. it's another reason i spend so much time seeing if a product is worth my time and money.
    1. Lumene and anything sold in Sephora.

    2. Lumene is worth buying, has great quality, and in sephora its the same thing, stays on great, no mess

3.Yes, i have many times, it has something to do with how they present the product for me.

4.Its not for me, id rather buy a 16 dollar mascara, then somethign from Wet n Wild
    1. Not at all. Its whatever i choose from the shelf at the time

    2. Usually price or if i've used it before or been recommended it.

    3. Yeah for sure :)

    4. Cost is the BIGGEST factor. most of the time i just feel like im paying for the label.

Is storing makeup in the refrigerator better for your cosmetics?

I read some place on the net that it keeps them usable longer and might slow down the inevitable tossing deadline. Is storing makeup in the refrigerator better for your cosmetics?
I have found that putting them in the freezer is a good idea. not liquids of course- just the eye shadow pencils, liners, etc. I have found that they go on smoother, last longer, and has more of a ';glow'; appearance, %26amp; It doesn't cake or clump when u do this. Mascara-, I don't store anywhere but room temp 4 obvious reasons. I dont use liquids 4 my face- but if u do- u could put them in the fridge 4 smoother appearance. Powders can b put in either place. Is storing makeup in the refrigerator better for your cosmetics?
i have never heard abt something like that but i dont think it's true..............
    Yeah, it is true.

If you put them in a plastic container in the fridge.

I've forgotton the reasons why, but i do know that it is good for the chemicals and such.

Just don't put them in the freezer.
It applies to lipstick because then it won't break off in the hot weather, but I don't know of any benefits for other types of make-up. Modern make-up keeps for months or longer because of advanced manufacturing technologies.
if you are living in a hot area; but honey , do you see them in a fridge in beauty salons and store? NO :)

Small cosmetic business advertising - best options?

I only sell through the website so I am weary of print advertising. My niche is 15-30 year old women.

    I have tried:

Google Adsense - decent for the money, but the money goes fast, and I don't like some of Google's shady tactics.

Ebay - Works kinda, doesn't get that many hits but it has increased brand recognition drastically.

Youtube - Works very well, tons of sales, but my camera broke, lol.

Huge Sales - Works but I lose profit drastically

Any other online advertising ideas? I need something fresh and original. I have too much competition to do SEO - it feels like a waste of money. So are there other options, or should I revisit some of the above? I don't really know how to advertise on craigslist, so any info on that would help

+ Is print really worth it for my niche? It's super expensive and I don't see young girls reading much anymore.Small cosmetic business advertising - best options?
You might want to consider printing inexpensive 4x6 flyers and having them inserted into magazines or newspapers. You can print these at ReducePrinting.com

You can also hire (usually young kids) to distribute these flyers door to door, at malls, on cars, and stores, etc. Just be sure to keep advertising, and never give up. There are low cost printing options, but also anything you do online is excellent (you can also sell products on ebay.com and craigslist.org)Small cosmetic business advertising - best options?
i am betting $1,000, you do not have

    a written biz plan.

I bet there are lots of restaurants and

not been too BECAUSE THEY ARE

    DISTANT FROM YOU AND

    HAVE NOTHING SPECIAL that you

    can't get local.........yet you will

    once a year to visit special places;

    the key here is SPECIAL.

why is your on line cosmetic biz special?

IF IT IS NOT you have nothing to draw

Consider the cost effect and be ready to run for the next three months without profit before expecting a profit. it keeps you safe from pressure of how to co-op after the first month you might not make much sales at first but surely you will if you have found the need for it in that locality.

Get ahold of me at www.marykay.com/rebecca. I will help you make your business a success. I love MK, and I left a $60,000 career to do Mary Kay and my income keeps climbing. check it out. You can e-mail me or call me with any questions you may have about a career in cosmetics with Mary Kay.
You would need to create a business plan, get a loan, contact cosmetic companies, lease a space... There are many different cosmetic stores from all the department stores and sephora, and ulta. You need to think about a unique angle of why women would come to your store, are you going to give make up lessons, host girls nite out parties, eyebrow shaping? Or you could always become a Mark sales rep, so you get the sales and product but with out all the high start up costs and the responsibility. Good Luck.
Something you might think about doing to get more experience and ideas would be to sell Mark Cosmetics. It's Avon's fun and youthful makeup line. While you are working on your business plan, which can take awhile if you really want to do it right, you can sell Mark to see what you would and wouldn't do differently from them. You'll get to try out different sales techniques and build a customer base, plus you can take some of their ideas when you open your own business.

You could also look into being a makeup artist for weddings. My sister in law just went into different wedding planners with a business card that said she was a makeup artist, and now she is one of the most popular makeup artists in her city. She's always been great at doing makeup, but she didn't have any formal training. She mixes products a lot, and she has started selling custom blended lip color to people she worked with.

While you are deciding exactly how you want to approach the cosmetic business, make sure you come up with a unique angle or product. Yes, the demand for cosmetics is really high, but so is the supply. There are so many makeup companies out there. You will need to be creative and come up with a way to make your company extra special.

You might want to take a business entrepreneur class or join a business networking group, too. It takes a lot of work to start your own business, but it can be really fun and rewarding.

    Starting a cosmetic business?

OK me and my 2 friends are gonna start a cosmetics business with all natural products. We are gonna start be making 50 lipglosses. Where can we buy recycled packaging and how do we make organic lipgloss? And can we get like sued?Starting a cosmetic business?
no, you cant get sued because your making your own products

you can only get sued if you steal other companys products.

i have no idea where you can get products to make the lipgloss but you should google what kind of products you need and then go from there about finding the products you needStarting a cosmetic business?
You don't sound like you've done much research into this. I'd recommend taking a marketing class at a local college. Or even taking some classes at a beauty college to familiarize yourself with beauty products that are already on the market, and what women are looking for in a lip gloss.

And after that, come up with a natural formula and get a patent,so no one can steal your ideas and make money off of them.
I don't think like you can get like sued.

Do some research, cause I have NO idea.

Edit- lol, I serousily don't think you can get sued. Its your own stuff, be creative with the name :)

I want to become a Cosmetic Chemist but my undergraduate is in business. How can i make it happen :) thanks?

Some of the Masters programs I have researched say most students have a background in science. I don't but am willing to take some Organic Chemistry classes if i need to. Anyone have experience with this?I want to become a Cosmetic Chemist but my undergraduate is in business. How can i make it happen :) thanks?
I had some trouble finding a job after my undergraduate career. I have a degree is specialized chemistry, but most jobs look for chemical engineers. This sounds off topic, but the key is drive. If you have the passion for chemistry but didn't find out until four years too late.

The situation depends on your background as well. If you want to do research and discover more efficient or better chemicals for cosmetics, then the best path unfortunately would be to pursue a degree in chemistry even after your business degree.

This can be rough, but if you want a basic understanding, say you still like chemistry and took a few classes on the side, then perhaps you could slide buy with taking a few organic courses. The key problem is some of the basic problem solving skills developed in general chemistry courses. On the other hand, if you can prove an aptitude for basic inorganic skills or even a flair, then you could still pursue the masters.

The most important aspect is really just if your sure that this is the type of decision you want to make, then making it should merely be following your passion.
